Brief description of the research

Dr. Sandra Jovicic Milic is involved in the synthesis of new ethylenediamine and propylenediamine derivatives of amino acids and their palladium(II) complexes, as well as complexes of palladium(II) ions with 2-aminothiazole derivatives.

All newly synthesized compounds were characterized by structural instrumental and computational methods, after which their biological activity was tested — in vitro antimicrobial and anticancer activity.

A special part of the research relates to the interactions of palladium(II) complexes with DNA and bovine serum albumin (BSA).
