\r\n Brief description of the research<\/summary>\r\n
\r\n\r\n

\r\n Starting from the fact that derivatives obtained from alizarin, as well as vanillin-based compounds,\nexhibit a wide range of biological activities, it was assumed that molecules\nthat contain both fragments in their structure could potentially show enhanced\nbioactivity.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n For this reason, a series of carbohydrazides was synthesized starting from\nO-alkylated vanillin derivatives. In the next step, the synthesized compounds were\nreacted with an alizarin derivative, resulting in the formation of diacyl hydrazine.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n The alizarin derivative was obtained by acylation of the starting alizarin with ethyl bromoacetate\nand subsequent hydrolysis of the formed ester to the corresponding acid.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n The synthesized compounds were structurally characterized by IR and NMR analyses,\nalong with elemental analysis. The spectrum of their biological activities\n(antimicrobial, antioxidant, antitumor) was examined.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/details>\r\n\r\n \r\n
