Institute Researchers Present Their Research at Neurooncology 2026 Congress in Ni\u0161<\/strong><\/h3>

Advancing biomedical engineering, computational modelling, and artificial intelligence in medicine<\/em><\/p>

Researchers from the Institute for Information Technologies, University of Kragujevac, participated in the 12th Annual Meeting of the Serbian Neurosurgical Society with International Participation \u2013 Neurooncology 2026<\/strong>, held from 10 to 13 September 2026 in Ni\u0161. Under the theme \u201cThink Global, Act Local: Challenges and Solutions\u201d<\/em>, the congress brings together experts and researchers in neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, neurology, oncology, and related scientific disciplines, providing a platform for the exchange of recent scientific knowledge and the presentation of contemporary approaches to neurological disorders.<\/p>

As part of the scientific program, Dr<\/strong>.<\/strong> Vladimir Simi\u0107, Research Associate<\/strong>, presented the paper \u201cDevelopment of a CT-Based Patient-Specific Finite Element Model for Evaluating Cervical Spine Biomechanics in Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy.\u201d<\/em> The study focuses on developing a patient-specific CT-based model of the cervical spine and applying the finite element method to evaluate biomechanical characteristics associated with degenerative cervical myelopathy. This approach has the potential to contribute to a more precise understanding of individual biomechanical characteristics and support further research into personalized approaches in medicine.<\/p>
