First International Computational Chemistry Meeting<\/strong> Held in Kragujevac<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

The first international meeting on computational chemistry brought together researchers from Serbia and around the world<\/em><\/p>

From 8 to 11 September 2026, the First International Computational Chemistry Meeting (ICCM 2026) was held at the Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac. The international scientific meeting was dedicated to recent advances in computational chemistry, cheminformatics, and molecular modelling.<\/p>

The meeting was organized by the Serbian Society for Cheminformatics and Molecular Modelling (SSCIMM), founded and chaired by Dr. \u017diko Milanovi\u0107, Research Associate at the Institute for Information Technologies, University of Kragujevac. In addition to the President of the Society, participants were welcomed at the opening ceremony by Prof. Dr. Biljana Petrovi\u0107, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research at the University of Kragujevac, and Prof. Dr. Marija Stani\u0107, Dean of the Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac.<\/p>

Among the researchers from Serbian institutions who delivered lectures as part of the scientific programme were Dr. Izudin Red\u017eepovi\u0107 from the State University of Novi Pazar, Dr. Slavko Radenkovi\u0107 and Dr. Milan Mladenovi\u0107 from the Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac, Dr. Sla\u0111ana \u0110or\u0111evi\u0107 from the Ru\u0111er Bo\u0161kovi\u0107 Institute in Zagreb and the Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac, and Dr. Du\u0161an Malenov from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade.<\/p>

International guest lecturers included Dr. Robert Vianello from the Ru\u0111er Bo\u0161kovi\u0107 Institute in Zagreb, Dr. Yaping Mao from Qinghai Normal University in China, Dr. Sason Shaik from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Dr. Benoit Braida from Sorbonne University in France, Dr. Rino Ragno from Sapienza University of Rome, Dr. Antonio Prlj from the Ru\u0111er Bo\u0161kovi\u0107 Institute in Zagreb, Dr. Nourdine Zibouche from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom, and Dr. Ralph Puchta from Friedrich-Alexander-Universit\u00e4t Erlangen-N\u00fcrnberg in Germany.<\/p>

A significant part of the programme consisted of practical workshops in 3D-QSAR methodology and computer-aided design of bioactive molecules, led by Dr. Rino Ragno from Sapienza University of Rome and Dr. Milan Mladenovi\u0107 from the Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac.<\/p>

Over the course of the four-day programme, ICCM 2026 brought together researchers from Serbia and abroad, providing an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in various areas of computational chemistry.
