Brief description of the research

In the previous period, Mirjana Z. Grujović successfully engaged in scientific research, where she mastered the techniques and methods of microbiological research. During her scientific research, she gained knowledge in the field of biochemical and physiological characteristics of lactic acid bacteria isolated from indigenous fermented milk and meat products, as well as in vitro testing of the biotic potential of isolated bacteria. Research was also extended to in vitro testing of probiotic characteristics of selected strains.

She is also actively involved in phytochemical, antioxidant, antimicrobial and antibiofilm testing of plant and lichen extracts. As part of a trilateral project in which she is engaged, she is involved in the isolation, identification and testing of the potential for heavy metal uptake by bacterial isolates.
