Ana Mirić
Brief description of the research
Ana Mirić's research includes examining the association between genetic markers and genotypic traits using single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis.
Further research focus is on studying molecular mechanisms in cancer cells within microfluidic systems that mimic the tumor microenvironment. These systems are used to create 3D tumors on a chip in in vitro conditions, allowing for more detailed analysis of cell behavior.
An integral part of the research is the isolation of primary cell cultures directly from tissue, their cultivation, as well as characterization and assessment of behavior in in vitro conditions using immunofluorescence, gene and protein expression analysis and other modern methods.
Other research includes investigating the cytotoxic, pro-apoptotic, and redox effects of various synthetic and natural substances, as well as developing innovative techniques for delivering therapeutics to specific target sites in the body. A particular focus is on 3D printed pharmaceutical forms and scaffolds for controlled drug release and personalized therapy.
