Brief description of the research

Dr. Dejan Milenković is engaged in the investigation of the mechanisms of antiradical action of natural compounds towards free radical species by applying thermodynamic and kinetic approaches. Structure-activity relationships towards biologically important reactive oxygen species (•OH, •OOH, O2•⁻, аскорбил, хлоровани метилперокси) и реактивним азотовим врстама (NO•), као и према модел радикалима (DPPH, ABTS). Анализирају се механизми HAT, RAF, HAA-RAF, RAF-HAA, SPLET и SET-PT у различитим растварачима; на основу термодинамичких и кинетичких параметара одређује се доминантан механизам и брзина деактивације радикала. Поред тога, врше се симулације молекулског докинга и изграђују QSAR модели за одабрана природна једињења.
