Mission of the Office for Continuing Education and Training
The mission of the Office for Continuing Education and Training is to develop and improve the system of continuing education through the organization of professional training, educational programs and activities aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of various target groups. The Office aims to contribute to strengthening the competencies of teachers, researchers, students and experts from various fields, as well as to connect scientific achievements with educational processes and the needs of modern society. Special focus is placed on the application of modern approaches to learning, digital tools and innovative methods of education.
Vision of the Office for Continuing Education and Training
The vision of the Office for Continuing Education and Training is to become a recognizable center for lifelong learning and professional development, which, through a multidisciplinary approach, contributes to the improvement of education and the development of a knowledge-based society. It strives to establish a sustainable education system that enables continuous professional development of personnel and strengthens the links between science, education and practice. In the long term, the vision involves the development of flexible and accessible educational programs that meet the needs of modern society and the labor market.
Goals of the Office for Continuing Education and Training
- Development and implementation of a program of continuous professional development for teachers and associates.
- Organization of training at the national level with the aim of improving knowledge and skills in various scientific, educational and professional fields.
- Creating and implementing free educational activities, lectures and workshops available to the general public.
- Support for the development of modern teaching methods and the application of digital tools in education.
- Strengthening cooperation with educational institutions, scientific research organizations and industry.
- Encouraging the concept of lifelong learning and continuous professional development.
- Improving the accessibility of education to different target groups through flexible and inclusive programs.
- Promoting an interdisciplinary approach to education and connecting theoretical and practical knowledge.
Organization and method of work of the Office
The work of the Office is organized through three interconnected program units: program unit professional development teacher (accredited by the Institute for the Advancement of Education), program unit of non-formal education with NOX (National Qualifications Framework of Serbia) level (accredited by the Qualifications Agency), as well as program unit of internal and international professional courses which are implemented without state accreditation and end with the issuance of a certificate from the Institute. In addition to the above program units, the Office also conducts additional activities that involve all participants in the implementation of the program. The work is based on a clearly defined flow of information and activities between program units, which ensures efficient organization, high quality of educational content and compliance with the needs of target groups.

The work of the Office is based on a clearly defined linear process, within which needs are first identified and educational programs are defined, then training and lectures are prepared and implemented, while after the implementation of the activities, the program is evaluated and improved. This work model ensures continuity in the development of educational activities, high quality of implementation and adaptation to user needs.
Program unit professional development teacher
This program unit includes the development and implementation of professional development programs for teachers and associates, with the aim of improving their pedagogical, methodological and professional competencies. Activities include the organization of accredited training courses, seminars and workshops, as well as monitoring contemporary trends in education and their implementation in teaching practice.
Non-formal education program unit with NOKS level
This program unit includes the organization and implementation of educational programs intended for the wider professional and scientific community at the national level, which are aligned with the National Qualifications Framework of Serbia (NQF). Activities include the development and implementation of courses, workshops and training in various scientific, educational and professional fields, with the aim of improving the knowledge and skills of participants and strengthening capacities in various sectors.
Program unit of internal and international professional courses
This program unit includes the organization of open lectures, workshops and educational events that are implemented without formal state accreditation, but have a significant role in informal education and knowledge exchange. The activities are aimed at the general public, as well as domestic and international participants, and cover topics from various fields of science, technology and innovation, with the issuance of Institute certificates.
