Brief description of the research

The research in which the candidate participated can be classified into two closely related groups according to the topic and methodology. First, Jelena Đorović Jovanović's research work was focused on examining the structure and antioxidant activity of natural phenolic compounds, while she further examined the antioxidant and pro-oxidative properties of synthetic phenolic compounds - Schiff bases and their complexes with metals. Later research work was focused on examining the antioxidant activity of natural and synthetic compounds, as well as examining their interaction with proteins. Current research includes examining the inhibitory capacity of various compounds (antioxidants and drugs) and their interactions with proteins. Molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations are used to study protein-ligand interactions.
