Brief description of the research

Dr. Danijela Stojković worked on the synthesis of propylenediamine derivatives of some amino acids, as well as the corresponding palladium(II) complexes with the aforementioned derivatives. The synthesized derivatives and complexes were characterized and their biological activity was examined, as well as the interactions of palladium(II) complexes with biologically significant molecules (human serum albumin – HSA and deoxyribonucleic acid – DNA).

Due to the wide spectrum of biological activities that thiazole derivatives exhibit, Dr. Danijela Stojković also studied the synthesis of complexes of palladium(II) and platinum(II) ions with some 2-aminothiazole derivatives. The mentioned complexes were characterized and their biological activity, as well as interactions with DNA and HSA molecules, were also examined.
