Brief description of the research

Investigation of the molecular mechanisms of the influence of organoselen compounds (OSCs) on the redox status of immortalized HCT-116 colon carcinoma and MDA-MB-231 breast carcinoma cell lines.

Examination of the effects of OSJ on the migratory potential of HCT-116 and MDA-MB-231 cells using the Transwell migration assay.

Determination of the influence of OSJ on the expression of mRNA target genes for seleno-enzymes in HCT-116 cells by quantitative PCR.

Examination of the effects of OSJ on the activity of the transcription factors Nrf2, HIF and NF-κB, as well as their interrelationships, using fluorescent methodology, transfection of the pTRAF vector and analysis on the Operetta system at single-cell resolution.
