Brief description of the research
Research belongs to the field of bioorganic, bioinorganic and medicinal chemistry. The kinetics and mechanisms of formation reactions, as well as interactions with biomolecules are investigated using various spectroscopic methods (NMR, UV-Vis, fluorimetry) and theoretical (DFT, docking) methods. Within bioorganic chemistry, research is directed towards the synthesis, characterization and testing of various biologically active heterocyclic compounds and their molecular hybrids with natural substances. Within bioinorganic chemistry, complexes of transition metal ions are investigated as antitumor agents, their cytotoxic activity and mechanisms of action.
